Week 16 Injury Report: Wednesday

Week 16 Initial Injury Report

Leonard Fournette RB LSU Tigers: The swirls of controversy around Leonard Fournette not participating in his final game as an LSU Tiger. However, I want to look at this from Fournette’s perspective. He barely played in LSU’s last several games with the ankle injury and his team still performed admirably. He is the highest rated player in this year’s upcoming draft per several rating outlets. If Fournette were to do any more damage to his ankle it could cost him millions of dollars if he were to fall in the upcoming draft. I can’t say that if I were in his shoes I would not be making the same decision.

Julio Jones WR Atlanta Falcons: Hopefully it is not too late for you to make use of Julio Jones as he is planning to be back on the field this week returning from a turf toe injury. If Jones’ absence has not already derailed your playoff campaign, now you are left with the difficult decision of playing Julio in a championship matchup. That decision is difficult because you do not know how much the Falcons will use Jones and because of how high the risk of re-aggravating the injury is. If you do decide to play Julio, limit your expectations. I suspect that Jones will be on a limited snap count.

Aaron Rogers QB Green Bay Packers: Rogers looked ok this week in a close game. You could tell that he was bothered by his calf for sure. He was not able to move outside the pocket like normal and was really not as accurate with the football as we are used to seeing. Rogers was effective though and the Packers have all but put themselves in must-win mode, especially against the Vikings this weekend. I do not see Rogers sitting this one out as it has division championship implications. Minnesota has played tough defense all year but Rogers receivers have really come on, even at the running back position. I would trust Rogers with my fantasy life any day, even if he is a bit hobbled.
